Bilbao, Spain

The front of the Guggenheim Bilbao Museo. One entire floor is devoted to its architect, Frank Gehry. The kids standing in front of the entrance, and the huge flower covered botanical sculpture of a.... well .....um..... a 40 foot tall puppy. Kate loved it.
Alex and Kate under the floral canine, which, by the way was flourishing with flowers even in a coastal February with low thermometer temperatures. A view of the Guggenheim from its highly fashionable parking lot, in the middle of a hugely grotesque construction project, neatly cut from all photographs for your enhanced viewing pleasure.
A hulking metal menace that graced the backyard of the Guggenheim and complemented the topsy turvy angles of the main thingamawhatsit, also known as a architectural masterpiece, said to be without an entirely vertical wall anywhere. Artful poses under the "hulking metal menace" in an arachnid-like form, the sculpture anyway. It was amazingly inspirational, even in the permeating foggy drizzle with gustly wind acompaniments.
Mom wanted these two pictures in, so more of the building could be seen...
