Lisbon, Portugal

The road to Portugal from Spain wound through beautiful oak woodlands and orchards. We stayed in Pensao Geres in the heart of Lisbon, across from Plaza Rossio. As you can see in the photo, we had no trouble parking nearby.
Looking toward the harbor from Plaza Figueira; it rained most of most of the time during our stay. The beautiful tiles that cover many of the buildings in the city are in serious need of repair. This was the view from our pension window.
The grand arch leads from Baixa to the harbor. This area was designed and built after the devasting earthquake of 1755. All the sidewalks have beautiful patterns of stone and tile. Here a city workman repairs some of the sidewalk on Plaza Figueira.
