Please note which program applies to your situation: Old curriculum: Students who have successfully completed (grade of C or better) J101 prior to Fall 2003 AND who have declared journalism as a major by Nov. 10, 2003 are required to complete a one-credit, 120-hour internship program. New curriculum: Students who are enrolled in J101 in Fall 2003 and in the future will be required to complete a three-credit, 150-hour internship program. Students who qualify under the "old" program who wish to opt for the "new" program may do so ONLY with the consent of the student's adviser and ONLY if the student takes five journalism elective courses for a total of 15 journalism elective credits as required for graduation. Students under the "new" program rules will not have an option to take the "old" program.
This Web site will provide information to students who are interning, thinking about or looking for internships. Journalism professionals who have internships available at their businesses can submit and update information about those positions. Students can access the requirements and deadlines for RSJ's internship program. Those looking for internships can check this site for opportunities, get tips on finding internships and read testimonials of students who have already interned. Journalism professionals can learn about the RSJ Internship Program, post available internships and better understand what is expected of them as a mentor and what they can expect of students interning with them.
