Sunset Grille sheds positive light on breakfast

It was 10 a.m. on a Sunday, and the Sunset Grille was sporting a full house. My mother and I put our name on the waiting list and settled down in the lobby. We were pleasantly surprised when the hostess called our name only five minutes later.

After showing us to our table, the server came over within minutes to take our drink orders. Initially I was hesitant to order orange juice because restaurants typically serve it in something resembling a shot glass. I was shocked when the orange juice was served in a regular-sized glass. The Sunset Grille already was exceeding expectations. The atmosphere was bright, friendly and inviting as the morning sun streamed in through the windows. The bathrooms were clean, stocked and smelled fresh.
The servers were mostly college students, and everyone seemed to be having fun. They worked efficiently, hurrying around the restaurant but carefully serving patrons at the tables. The servers appeared to be moving in fast-forward and then slow-motion. I was amused by the display.

Our food was delivered in about 10 minutes. A mere $4.99 included two eggs, a generous portion of home fries, choice of ham, bacon or sausage and toast. All breakfast prices ranged from $3.99 to $7.99. The total bill for two people was less than $15.
That is a good deal for a poor college student who takes her mother to breakfast every Sunday.
