The Tender

A tender was characteristic of most locomotives. This car was pulled behind the locomotive. It carried wood and fuel. This tender is attached to locomotive No. 18. This piece is a Central Pacific piece built in 1873 in Sacramento, Calif. The tender is one of the only ones remaining to this day.
