Cattle Drive Facts

Once a year in the high desert of Nevada, buckaroos and city slickers alike don their spurs and chaps to ride through five dusty days and 60 butt-breaking miles to deliver the 300 head of cattle used for the Reno Rodeo. No roads, cars, trains or planes are allowed, just the sheer power of horses and a few wagons to pull supplies.

I had stumbled on this trip through a public relations flyer sent to my work. I've always dreamed about a cattle drive, since my Black Stallion days when I was younger. So I canceled my shopping trip to the city and packed what little cowboy gear I owned, not comprehending that I was about to experience one of the dustiest sensations of my life.
