As I entered The Liberty Belle, I temporarily went blind. The inside of the restaurant was extremely dark, and it took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust.

The atmosphere was unusual. The walls were brick, and guns and phonographs hung from the ceiling. The chandeliers were old Western style. The whole place had a rustic and old-fashioned look to it.

My friends, Heather and Ryan, joined me for lunch at the Liberty Belle. We walked to the back of the restaurant to order, because at lunchtime, there is no service. Lunch is a do-it-yourself thing. You seat yourself and place your own order.

We entered a little room in the back, got our trays and looked at the menu. I was surprised when I saw the prices. The menu featured a large selection of items at reasonable prices. A variety of sandwiches ranged from $4.50 to $5, the salads were $3 and a shrimp salad was $7.

Ryan and I ended up ordering salads, beef ribs and an iced tea. My total was $4. Heather ordered a French dip sandwich, a salad and an iced tea. Her total came to $7.75. The french dip was the most expensive thing on the menu.

We waited there with our trays while they prepared our food and placed it on our trays. We got our drinks and then walked out into the sitting area to find a table.

The food was really great. Everything was cooked homestyle and it was a great deal. I was not entirely satisfied with my beef rib because it had a lot of fat on it and not much meat. But my salad, which was topped with house-made Ranch dressing and green beans, was wonderful. Heather also enjoyed her meal, saying it was one of the best French dip sandwiches she had ever tasted.

Overall, lunch at The Liberty Belle was good. The food was great, and the prices were even better. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great tasting homestyle meal for a low price.
