The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, a swing band from the Pacific Northwest, has now popped onto the mainstream music scene. The eight-member band has been swinging since 1989. They have three independently released albums but Zuit Suit Riot is their first major label album on Mojo Records. It has sold around 50,000 copies and radio stations are now giving them air time and they are catching on nationally.

Zuit Suit Riot combines songs from their three previous albums plus some new songs. Their sound is traditional swing with rock and roll -type lyrics. This album is fast and hard with lots of horns. Good driving music and all around fun to listen to. If you are having a bad day this album can change your mood.

"We're not a retro thing," says band founder and frontman Steve Perry. "We could get involved in a nostalgic type of scene, but we don't want to do that. Swing has to bereinvented. Use the lyricism of the 1960's, use punk-rock energy, use the stuff that can't be denied and create a new thing...I guess we're like swing-core or something." * From an interview on Mojo Records Site
