Reno/Tahoe area maps

  • BIRD'S EYE VIEW MAPS - An outstanding map put out by the Reno Gazette-Journal. The map this site provides is a lifelike illustration of the Reno/Tahoe area. This site allows you to scroll down from the snow-capped mountains of Lake Tahoe through Carson City and on to Reno and Sparks, displaying the different elevations and rolling hills of the area. Clicking on the word Reno will display the various subdivisions of the city. And by clicking on any one subdivision,you can receive information on real-estate, recreation and schools in that area.
  • YAHOO! MAP OF RENO - Driving in an unfamiliar town can be quite frustrating, but if you are visiting Reno this site will give you a detailed map of the entire area. Though this site, you can also type in a specific address and print a detailed map of the area of your choice. The site also allows you to zoom in and out.
  • MAPQUEST MAP OF RENO - This site enables you to scan the highways from Reno to outlying areas, along with any towns that you would travel through on your journey. Navigation of the map is made possible by clicking on specific areas of a compass. This map offers a zoom feature.
  • LAKE TAHOE DATA CLEARINGHOUSE - A topographic map and a color-coded map of the varying depths of Lake Tahoe, put out by the USGS, are available at this site. The news and reports section has information pertaining to environmental issues about the lake and the surrounding area.
  • TAHOE'S BEST - For hiking and bike trails, this is the site to visit. The Tahoe's Best may take a few seconds to download, but the site outlines the trails that wind through the scenic mountainside of the Tahoe area. It also provides the highway routs to Reno, Carson City, Truckee, Sacramento and San Francisco.
