  • Audubon Society, California and Nevada - This organization focuses on conservation and restoration of the environment for birds, wildlife and humans. Resources include legislative, conservation and education information.
  • Citizen Alert - An advocacy and educational organization, Citizen Alert's home page includes local information on Nevada issues and links to many national and international organizations.
  • Citizen Alert Native American Program - This branch of Citizen Alert serves as a clearinghouse for indigenous and non-Native Americans for enviromental issues in the Great Basin and Nevada.
  • Clean Tahoe Program - Working through policy development and community involvement, this organization works to eliminate debris and litter in the Tahoe Basin. The Adopt-A-Neighborhood program is highlighted.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 - The homepage of Nevada's regional office of the U.S. EPA contains information on air, water, toxic materials and waste. "Recycle City," a page of scavenger hunts and other games, entertains and educates on recycling issues.
  • Keep Tahoe Blue: League to Save Lake Tahoe - A local watchdog and advocacy organization that provides information on air and water quality issues on the Tahoe Basin.
  • National Wildlife Refuges, California - A page containing links to wildlife and marine sanctuaries throughout California, as well as parks, forests, historic and cultural sites.
  • National Wildlife Refuges, Nevada - A links page with information on Nevada wildlife sanctuaries and "Great Escapes in the Great Basin."
  • Nature Conservancy - The organization's link to regional and state pages. The Nevada and California pages contain information on local issues and sites.
  • Nevada Indian Environmental Coaltion - The statewide organization that assists Nevada tribes in environmental educational and program development. Links to tribes, programs and reservation maps are included.
  • Nevada Division of Emergency Management - The state agency's page provides disaster preparedness information on hazardous materials and radioactive accidents, natural disasters, strategic response plans, as well as links to other state agencies and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
  • Nevada Division of Wildlife - Hunting information, fishing forecasts and addresses and telephone numbers of regional offices are found on the state's wildlife pages.
  • Nevada Division of Forestry - Wildland and forest fire-fighting information, as well as wildland travel and firewood details, are located on NDF's page.
  • Nevada Natural Heritage Program - Details of the program that maintains a database on Nevada's threatened, endangered and sensitive species. Priority conservation sites, locations of species, species photos, reports and publications are available on this site.
  • Sierra Club - Toiyabe Chapter, Great Basin Group - The northern region of the Toiyabe Chapter, serving Reno, is the Great Basin Group, whose page provides news on upcoming events and local committee news.
  • Sierra Club - Toiyabe Chapter, Range of Light Group - The southern region of the Toiyabe Chapter highlights local events and photographs on its page.
  • State of Nevada Agency for Nuclear Projects - This agency works to develop nuclear waste disposal and transportation policy that will ensure the protection of Nevada's residents and environment. The site includes informational updates on the proposed high-level nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain in southern Nevada.
