Featured Resource: MINERVA (Mapping the INternet Electronic Resources Visual Archive, Library of Congress Web Archiving)

The Minerva Project is an effort to preserve websites as primary source material for the benefit of future researchers. Here is a description from the Project's Website: "The MINERVA Web Archiving Project was established to initiate a broad program to collect and preserve these primary source materials. A multi disciplinary team of Library staff representing cataloging, legal, public services, and technology services is studying methods to evaluate, select, collect, catalog, provide access to, and preserve these materials for future generations of researchers."

Currently, several databases are available, including one on the 107th Congress, the 2002 elections, 9/11, and the 2000 presidential election. These databases are searchable.

Future projects include those on the Winter Games of 2002, 9/11 Remembrance, the Iraq War, the 109th Congress, and the 2004 Presidential Election.

A great resource for researchers and teachers alike!
