Featured Resource: Plagiarism
There is a difference between filtering information through ideology—the subject of this issue's roundtable—and outright cheating. But in a culture in which the difference between a fact and a fabrication is increasingly indistinct, it can be difficult to tell the two apart. Luckily, there are many resources to help instructors, and their students, learn the difference. I have found Iowa State University's library page on "Deterring and Detecting Plagiarism" an especially helpful resource. It lists many of the best on-line places to help students learn how to avoid plagiarizing in their assignments. I simply provide this link to students, and when they have questions, direct them to the sites that address their particular concerns.
